Lake Lite 24v Boat Lift Solar System Wiring Instructions

[Music] hi Jeff with lake light today we're going to be showing you all the necessary wiring and connections necessary for your 24 volt boatlift system now as you can see we have two marine deep cycle batteries we recommend group 24 size we have two plastic battery tubs we also have two battery status indicators we have our motor power cable we also have a jumper cable we have an optional 24 volt regulator and we have our 24 volt charging solar panel [Music] [Music] now that we have our batteries and our plastic tubs we need to position the batteries so that we have our positive and negative on our first battery and our positive and negative on our second battery in a position that allows us to have negative on the first battery right next to positive on the second battery that allows us to install our jumper between the two batteries now when we're using our jumper wire we need to again make sure that we are going from negative of one battery to positive of the next battery [Music] use the wrench to tighten securely for a good connection [Music] next we are going to be connecting our motor power cable to the batteries we're going to take the black negative wire and connect it to the available negative on one battery and we're going to take the red positive wire and connect it to the open positive terminal on the other battery use the wrench to securely tighten for a good connection [Music] now we are going to connect one wire on each of our battery status indicators we're going to look at where our jumper is on this battery and see that it's the negative terminal so we are going to take the black wire from the indicator and connect it to the negative terminal here [Music] next we're going to go to this battery where the other side of the jumper is this is the positive terminal on this battery so we are going to take the red wire on the battery indicator and connect it to this terminal [Music] [Music] next we are going to connect the other side of each of our indicators we're going to go to the other side of the battery which is our positive terminal we're going to take our red wire from the indicator and right now we're just going to sit it on this positive terminal next we're going to go to this battery here and take our other wire which goes to the other side of the battery which is a negative terminal and again we're just going to sit it right here for right now now we need to connect our solar panel wires take our ends of the solar panel wires and we're going to connect them to opposite sides of the battery we're going to take the negative side and look at the far end of this battery here which is a negative side we're going to connect it here [Music] then we're going to take the red positive side go to the far end of the opposite battery and we see that this is also the red positive on this battery [Music] now after we install both of our batteries on our boat lift and our solar panel all we need to do is simply plug in the solar panel and we are now charging both batteries now if your solar charging kit came equipped with a 24 volt charge regulator or if you're looking to boost the tragic performance of your existing 24 volt panel you may simply add the charge regulator where the solar panel wires connect to the battery disconnect the solar panel wires [Music] [Applause] and install the 24 volt charge regulator wires in the exact same place we're going to take the negative wire of the charge regulator go to the negative on the far battery [Music] and we're going to take the positive of the charge regulator the red wire and connect it to the positive on the far battery [Music] now all we have to do is simply connect the solar panel wire directly to the charge regulator and the system is charging [Music]
